Inspired by the movie "Solaris". See further down how this image was created. I first thought of having a Tintin-type rocket instead in this image but changed my mind. I finished the Tintin rocket recently
anyway but haven't used it for anyting yet. You can download the Tintin rocket model & texture if you wish (below). |

I began this picture by modelling this rather simlpe vessel with C4D. | |

Painted a starfield layer in Photoshop. | |

Painted a planet | |

Used a fractal generator (apophysis) to create this image. | |
 |
Made the "plasma" come alive in Potoshop by copying the fractal several times, rotating it, blurring it and boosting its hue and saturation.
I finished the picture by merging all the layers together with a C4D render of the vessel. |
